Who's ready to find out some players for this year's draft?!?!
A reminder of the draft rules: 1. Three randomized years from NBA history will be selected. 2. There can only be one year from each decade represented. 3. We will announce one year every three sims: sim 3, sim 6, and sim 9.
The total list of draft years (for reference) is here: docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/18GREqRIozKUwoj_dCMgNGK4poqIw4BJqb_cyBRNWgBM/edit?usp=sharing
Sim Three: 1980 Sim Six: 2012 Sim Seven: 1992
------
Sim Three: The first class for next year's rookie draft has been announced, and it is: 1980!
Includes Hall of Famer Kevin McHale, as well as other All Stars like Joe Barry Carroll, Andrew Toney, Kiki Vandeweghe, and Jeff Ruland.
----EDIT: UPDATED FOR SECOND DRAFT YEAR
Sim Six: The second class for next year's rookie draft has been announced, and it is: 2012!
Includes no Hall of Famers, but two All Stars (Anthony Davis and Damien Lillard), as well as other notables like Bradley Beal and Andre Drummond.
----FINAL EDIT: UPDATED FOR FINAL DRAFT YEAR
Got bored and picked this early. The final class for next year's rookie draft is: 1992!
Another big man draft: includes Hall of Famer Alonzo Mourning, surefire Hall of Famer Shaquille O'Neal, and other notables like Latrell Sprewell and Christian Laettner.
That's it. Let's all tank for Shaq, now, apparently.

Holy crap, what a terrible draft to start with. McHale and Darrell Griffith both give me nightmares of leagues past...

McHale was really good in Legends and then became McGlitch when he ditched Sydney for me. Then I traded him for a good young McDyess who would die a year later and then he was on various teams for the next few seasons, barely winning on any.

This class gives me more incentive to try to make the playoffs this year, although I'd prefer we push these bad classes back until my rebuild is finished.

some league needs to make my boy Andrew Toney too legit to quit! If it was not for injuries he would have been KING.
Quotes: The Boston Strangler may be gone, but he is hardly forgotten. The mere mention of Andrew Toney's name still sends shivers up the spine of many a Celtics veteran, and a smile to those Sixers who remember when.
"Andrew Toney is the best player I ever played with," asserts Charles Barkley. "When I first got to Philadelphia, everyone kept asking me, 'How's Dr. J? What's Moses like? How about Maurice Cheeks?'
"I told them, 'They're all fine, but wait until you see Andrew.' "
Danny Ainge remembers the first time he saw the Strangler. Ainge was a rookie with Boston, and Toney welcomed him to the NBA by raining jump shots on his head.
"He was the toughest guy I ever guarded," says Ainge. "I still talk about him all the time. I was telling the guys in Portland about him last week.

Very interesting draft class and definitely helps make #4 not so bad for me. Davis, Damian Lillard, Drummond, Barnes, Beal.

This definitely makes the class more interesting. Newer classes are always intriguing because the players haven't finished developing. I think we can all assume Davis will be a star and Beal might be Sam Jones 2.0, but I'm wondering about the following:
- Draymond Green: Played a huge role last year, but he's not a stats guy. Might be kind of like an unathletic Dave DeBusschere from last year's class.
- Damian Lillard: I love the guy, but he's so bad on defense. Will anyone use a top-5 pick on someone with zero defense?
- Andre Drummond: How much offensive skill does he get? Should go top-10 just like Bogut/Bynum last year, but he's a lot more athletic and a better rebounder. If he has some offensive potential, that's maybe top-5.
- Jeremy Lamb: He's finally starting to break out in real life, but he'll probably be one of those Y/G guys who flames out here.

Andre Drummond is averaging 19ppg 19rpg this season. Can we make sure he's that beastly in the game and not one of those generic 8ppg 10rpg type Centers.
That's my scouting report. Kthxbai

Green isn't a stats guy? He's averaging 12 8 and 7 this year with 1.3 steals and 1.4 blocks. He should be Emiliano Rodriguez with much better passing.
