I saw THE MAN FROM UNCLE over the weekend and thought it was fun. If you like Ritchie's take on SHERLOCK HOLMES then you'll probably like this. Cavill is pretty good. So is Hammer.
Looking forward to STRAIGHT OUTTA COMPTON on Thursday. Kind of excited for it if only for the music.

I'm checking out both these films this week, as I didn't get around to them over the weekend, but I did see END OF THE TOUR...extremely good indie film that is opening wider this week for anyone who can check it out.

Good to know. I'll look for that one.
I missed the new Woody Allen when it was in town. I think it's called The Irrational Man. I've grown more fond of his work over the last decade or so.
Everyone would love Midnight In Paris fwiw.

Midnight in Paris was fantastic, even if I'm not a huge Woody Allen fan (I don't dislike his work like I do all things Wes Anderson, I'm just not a fanboy like some people are). I also dug last year's Magic in the Moonlight quite a bit...

Loved the Entourage movie. Epic doesn't begin to describe it - so happy everyone finished with a 'happily ever after'...

Yeah, well I've got a two year old in the house that will only watch a movie about a girl with magical powers that freezes the town and runs away from her problems.
On a side note, I'm pretty sure she'd be a epic character in a mortal kombat game. She'd give Sub-Zero a run for his money.

This is mainly for John, but we just had our announcement for the titles of our Lost Weekend IV Film Festival in Winchester, VA from Sept 24-27. Lineup looks pretty stacked (I've already seen a couple of these in DC theaters), but I was wondering if any of the films might be making it into your film festival in St. Cloud this November? 99 HOMES 1001 GRAMS QUEEN OF EARTH THE WINDING STREAM THE KEEPING ROOM MERU ME AND EARL AND THE DYING GIRL TURBO KID THE PROPHET FINDERS KEEPERS MANHATTAN SHORTS COLLECTION MOJAVE PHOENIX COOTIES AMY A HARD DAY PEOPLE PLACES THINGS THE END OF THE TOUR drafthouse.com/blog/entry/film-clubs-lost-weekend-ivPS - All 150 of the full weekend passes sold out within 6 hours this time...it's getting absurd.

Not at this point but our schedule is far from final. We have 1-2 spots left for features so who knows.
Yeah I've seen Dying Girl but I'm not sure I've seen any of the others. I'd like to see AMY - here its rad.

AMY and MERU are the docs I'm looking forward to in the lineup, and THE KEEPING ROOM sounds interesting as hell (though I love Westerns/Civil War-era films). I always marvel at the fact I spend $35 bucks for 18 movies...and then dumped close to $400 on the 3 night hotel stay. Something seems out of whack there...

Couldn't get over it the whole movie.

Screw all these new movies. El Rey network is running a Rocky marathon all day today (1-5), and I have come to the personal conclussion that Rocky IV may have the best soundtrack of any movie ever.
