Jim Jackson(#24)Height: 6-6 Weight: 220 lbs. Position: Small Forward and Shooting Guard Born: October 14, 1970 in Toledo, Ohio Age Drafted: 22 College: Ohio State University Source: Basketball Reference |
Strengths
Jim Jackson was a big time scorer early on in Dallas one year averaged 25.7ppg, and for his career averaged 14.3ppg. Jackson played some major minutes in his first 6 seasons before he began to swap teams super often. When he wanted to, he could be a good passer for the SF spot, averaging over 4 assists a game 4 out of his first 5 seasons and ended his career with 3.2apg. JJ was very efficient from FT (82%), and was a very good jump shooter before injuries began to take time away from him.
Weaknesses
Not a great rebounder from the SF spot, averaged 4.7 for his career. Also averaged under a steal per game so he wasn't overly feared for causing turnouvers (0.8 for career). For being an offensive attacker, he didn't get to the line anywhere near enough for being such a good shooter. He only made it to the stripe 3 times a night.
Notes
Jackson was a guy that seemed to run into problems everywhere. He was often looking for the best place to put up numbers and seemed to always see the grass greener elsewhere. Jackson played for 12 different teams during his career.
