Elgin Baylor(#22)Height: 6-5 Weight: 225 lbs. Position: Small Forward Born: September 16, 1934 in Washington, District of Columbia Age Drafted: 24 College: Seattle University Source: Basketball Reference |
Strengths
A rare mix of amazing athleticism (strength quickness and jumping ability) with one of the best jump shots the game has ever seen made Baylor one of the best players ever seen. He can post up players using the aforementioned athleticism and a bevy of post moves andhas range out to about 20 feet (.780 FT %). He was a tenacious rebounder(13.5 rpg) and could find the open man (4.3 apg). while still scoring at will (27.4 ppg). Gets to the line often (8.7 times a game). Dominated league from the start as a 24 year old.
Weaknesses
The biggest weakness is his height. No major weaknesses to speak of in his game other than he will not take a ton of 3s and was never an elite steals or blocks guys although he is good at both.
