DOB: June 23, 1980
Age when drafted: 22
College: N/A
Hometown: Carlton, Australia
Height: 6'11"

STRENGTHS:
David Andersen is a winner. He has nine championship rings in three different countries and has played for thirteen different organizations. Andersen was heavily called upon to join the NBA for years, when he finally did for brief stints with Rockets, Pelicans, and Raptors. More recently, teams were calling about him this past summer after a successful Olympic run with Australia. Andersen fits the mold of the modern-day stretch big man. He knocks down 3s at a good rate (35% in the NBA, but has shot between 40-50% from 3 most years since 2006).
WEAKNESSES:
Andersen doesn't offer a ton aside from passion and shooting. His rebounding is sub-par, he's weak, and has zero rim protection. When his shot isn't falling, even in the Olympics, he's pretty worthless. He had a bit of a post game when he was drafted to the NBA, but has abandoned it in favor of his jump shot. He plays a lot like a slow, lumbering SF on offense. He picks his spots and can score off open jumpers and sometimes isolation plays, but does no creating for others. On defense, he shows some potential to switch the pick & roll, but his quickness just is not adequate.
