Name: Nenad Krstic
Position: Center/Power Forward
Number: 12
DOB: July 25, 1983
Age when drafted: 18
College: N/A
Hometown: Kraljevo, Serbia
Height: 7'0"
Weight: 240
STRENGTHS:
Krstic is a very promising youngster. At just 18 years old, he's very raw, but shows flashes of a very good post game. In real life, he might have been one of the best post big men in the league toward the end of the 2000s. He also has range out almost to the 3-point line. In the NBA, he shot almost 45% on long 2s and 42% between 10-16 feet. Toward the end of his NBA career, he bulked up and became more of a bruiser, addressing a few of his weaknesses on the glass and on defense. Since he's so young, Krstic could end up being a very good player for a team, but that team might have to wait until the end of his rookie contract.
WEAKNESSES:
Krstic is very injury prone. In real life, his body couldn't handle the rigor of the NBA and he only played four complete seasons. He's a very poor rebounder for a big man and struggles to defend both in the paint and at the rim. He does not face a double team well and has poor court vision. He's also easily pushed off the block on offense. On defense, he's foul prone and lacks the lateral quickness to guard PFs. It took him developing for 2 seasons to come to the NBA and average 10/5 as a rookie, which shows just how raw he is.
SIGNIFICANT INFO:
NBA All-Rookie 2nd Team (2005)
All-Euroleague 1st Team (2012, 2013)
Nets fans thought he was the 2nd coming of Arvydas Sabonis
