Name: Kareem Rush

DOB: October 30, 1980
Age when drafted: 21
College: Missouri
Hometown: Kansas City, Missouri
Height: 6'6"
Weight: 215
STRENGTHS:
Rush has a sweet stroke. I always thought of him as a poor man's Michael Redd in that they're both great 3-point shooting lefties with a very high release point. Rush comes from a good basketball family. His older brother, JaRon, bounced around the D League, and has a son committed to UNC. His younger brother, Brandon, carved out a good career in the NBA. Rush's game is really his 3-point shot, although he's good in the mid-range. He also shows some potential as a playmaker and a defender.
WEAKNESSES:
Rush is a fairly one-dimensional player. He doesn't do much at all in the paint despite some athletic ability, and prefers to shoot a lot of 3s at a questionable efficiency. This might be because of his frail build. He also has the tools to be a good defender, but has yet to apply them. His playmaking capacities would be much improved if he showed any willingness to attack the paint. Just 25% of Rush's shots came from within 10 feet, and 2/3rds of them were either 3s or long 2s. Rush shot only 246 free throws over a 7 year NBA career.
