Name: Luis Scola
Position: Power Forward
Number: 4
DOB: April 30, 1980
Age when drafted: 22
College: N/A
Hometown: Buenos Aires, Argentina
Height: 6'9"
Weight: 240
STRENGTHS:
Luis Scola's best trait is his post game. He has an array of post moves that might remind some of Kevin McHale. He's a very intelligent offensive player whose range extends almost out to the 3-point line. Despite playing under the rim, Scola generally takes high percentage shots and converts on them, in part due to his quickness. He should be able to fit into most any ABCA lineup as a post presence, jump shooter, cutter, or hustle player. Finally, Scola is an adequate rebounder overall.
WEAKNESSES:
Scola is very raw. In real life, he was a relatively unheralded prospect who spent four years making a name for himself in Spain after he was drafted. It's unclear if he will have the polish to succeed in ABCA early on. Although Scola has some quickness, he is not strong and is severely lacking in the jumping department. This inhibits his ability to play defense, where he struggles. For a big man, Scola has zero presence at the rim, although he will occasionally strip his opponents.
