Name: Reggie Evans
Position: Power Forward
Number: 30
DOB: May 18, 1980
Age when drafted: 22
College: University of Iowa
Hometown: Pensacola, Florida
Height: 6'8"
Weight: 245
STRENGTHS:
Reggie Evans might be the best rebounder in the draft. He led the NBA in rebound rate for a few years with a career average of 13 boards per 36 minutes. He is an absolute workhorse on the glass offensively and defensively. Moreover, Evans knows his role. He is a one-trick pony and does not try to do any more than that. On defense, he is solid but unspectacular, absolutely passable considering his rebounding prowess. He might get a steal or two off the bench. Otherwise, he's a solid athlete, which, combined with his motor, should keep him around the league for a while.
WEAKNESSES:
Evans is basically worthless at all facets of the game other than rebounding and, somewhat, defense. He has a poor touch around the basket (54% shooting at the rim for his career) and is even worse from distance, but he does show a little promise in developing a not-horrible jump shot. At least Evans only shoots high percentage shots, though. He is not going to give teams any help on offense, and is putrid from the free throw line. He's also a foul machine on defense, which relegates him to bench minutes.
SIGNIFICANT INFO:
Played on 7 teams in the NBA
2001: Led the NCAA in double-doubles, free throws attempted, and free throws made
2001: Big Ten Tournament MVP
Once grabbed Chris Kaman's balls (watch out, Moscow!)
