Name: Amar'e Carsares Stoudemire AKA STAT Position: Power Forward Number: 1 DOB: October 30, 1982 Age when drafted: 2002 NBA Draft (20) College: N/A Hometown: Lake Wales, Florida Height: 6'10" Weight: 245 STRENGTHS: Amare Stoudamire was a steal with the ninth selection in the 2002 draft. Amare brings to the table elite athleticism with incredible jumping ability. One of the most athletic players to enter the league in NBA history. Amare was a great scorer averaging 19 PPG throughout his career which includes a few years where he was an end of bench player. Averaged a career high 26.0 PPG in 04-05 and was regularly around that mark before injuries derailed his career. Was a good rebounder throughout his prime averaging around 9 per game once again before injuries stole his athleticism. He was a good FT shooter for a big with a career mark of 76%. Was a decent shot blocker with a career high 2.1 BPG in 07-08. Developed a good jumpshot during his career which made him near impossible to stop on the offensive end. WEAKNESSES: A liability on the defensive end, Amare was not a good on ball defender in the post. Even for a big he was not a great passer with a career 1.3 APG. Amar'e had durability due to major knee problems throughout his career and his knees basically gave out completely by age 28.
