5-4 to finish the season, which I thought would be enough to give us the best shot at the #1 pick. Buenos Aires decided to surge the last sim and tie us, though. We beat some 30-win teams, but also had nice wins over Newcastle (again) and Vancouver. We couldn't have really asked for a better sim since we lost to the top two Eurasian teams and then the 8th seed (Bamberg). What killed us was a road loss to Milan in the last game of the season. Oh well. Still have a 50/50 coin flip for the chance to have the best odds to get Kareem.
Bryon Russell really shat a brick this sim. He was great in his first six games of the season, but he's definitely not ready to start. Despite starter's minutes, he barely increased his ppg or rpg, and his percentages fell off quite a bit. Still could be an interesting D League guy next year.
Corbalan had a career-high 30 point game against Newcastle and almost had a triple-double against Vancouver. Not bad, young fella.
Cliff Robinson made All-Rookie 1st Team, which makes me happy. Corbalan finished 3rd in assists and tied for 14th in steals. Krumins finished 7th in blocks and 20th in FT%. Not too bad.

Gilbert Arenas finished the year averaging 20ppg on 50% FG shooting (3rd in the league among PGs), but Terrell Brandon has played him off the roster for next year. This sim Brandon averaged 14ppg in 22mpg, shooting 55/95 (58%) including 23/38 (61%) from three, and a 4.6 assist to turnover ratio. So Arenas will need to be moved in the offseason to make room for Brandon and of course Rondo. Magic got ROY without surprise.
Our goal this season was to be above .500 and make the playoffs, so we're happy with how this season went. We don't have any expectations for the playoffs so this is just bonus playing time for the team.
Also Istanbul went on a downward spiral to end the season and their pick ended up 3rd pre-lottery, so thats a freebie. We're hoping it jumps to 1 so we can pair KAJ with Magic.
