Well, the former ownership from KK Cibona has moved to South America and is taking on a tough challenge...Franca Brazil BC. The scary thing is, this reminds ownership of their first foray into ABCA with Boston (except far less talent and more overpaid chumps than a bad MLB team). This team makes up for the fact they have a low talent level with having several grossly overpaid bench players who won't put on a game uniform unless a nuclear device is dropped on Brazil. Wait, that doesn't make up for it, does it???
This team will go as far as two solid inside scorers and a mess on the wings will take them...for this year, it's trying to avoid the worst record in league history. McDyess and Gatling are able scorers on the blocks, but there's a lot of nothing everywhere else. The young talent like McLemore isn't ready, but why not have that problem when there is literally nothing to play for this year? Franca is committed to making this team competitive, but this is going to be a labor intensive struggle up the lottery for awhile. For anyone who remembers Cibona, the teams were normally competitive even if they weren't contenders for the big prize (ever). Rory Sparrow is the floor general, and he's going to have to pull a MacArthur to make this team a 10 game winner this season. When your goal is avoiding 70 losses, the bar isn't all that high.
One of the first orders of business is shipping Julius Randle to Siberia for a player to be named later. By later, we mean a quarter to never...we'll even pay his airfare and help him pack (wait, I think we've paid for that several times over plus a flight to the moon). Randle has been told not to report to practice, games, team functions, or anywhere in the country for the time being as this team tries to dig out of the Grand Canyon. There will be much tinkering with pace and style of play until this team finds a style that keeps games within 30 or so.
Well, there's the opening salvo...time to get to work fixing stuff.
