Coming off a 49 win season. Things were expected to be status quo in San Fran. That is until two major trades turned the Warriors roster on its head. Steve Smith was the odd man out in San Fran. Due to Smith coming up on his second contract. One the Warriors were not willing to pay.
The real shocker came on the eve of the season opener. With Tom Heinshon being shipped to defending champion NY. So what changed? Multiple offers from countless teams over the past seasons. San Fran management turned them all down. So why now? Team management felt it was time. To move on from Tommy H. With the current roster topping out.The decision was made to hand the keys to the franchise over to point guard Gail Goodrich. Was it the right decision? Only time will tell.
Gone are Tom Heinshon and Steve Smith
