In this article we will look at the top performers of each sim. Today we look at the statistical leaders for Sim Seven. Some of the categories we will look at are:
- Top 5 Scorers
- Top 5 Passers (assist)
- Top 5 Rebounders
- Top 5 Shot Blockers
- Top 5 Ball Thieves (steals)
Sim Six Individual Statistics
Sim Seven Top Scorers
Kevin Garnett (Timberwolves) - 30.6 Points Per Game
- We have a new #1 scorer this sim as the Minnesota Timberwolves' big man lit it up on the offensive end. He scored 30+ points in 5 out of 8 games and he has a bit of a streak going as four of the 30+ Point games came in the last four games of the sim. His best game had to be his 35 point game against the Jazz in a victory which I'll be talking about a bit more later.
Anthony Davis (Flamengo) - 30.5 Points Per Game
- Anthony Davis moves up from the #4 spot from last sim and nearly took the #1 spot this time around with a big scoring sim. AD had a huge sim which we'll be talking about as we go through this article but you have to think that most would say that the most impressive thing he did this sim was dominate offensively. He had 3 games this sim where he hit not only 30 Points but 35+ points to give his team their 3 wins. His best performance had to be his 39 point game against Harlem which again is a game that I'll be talking about later on in the article.
Andrew Bynum (Eagles) - 30.0 Points Per Game
- Someone mentioned Bynum's monster performance this sim and I have to say they definitely weren't overselling what he did. This had to be his best sim this season as he was great on the boards & defensively in Vancouver but he never scored like this. If you compare his stats right before this sim where he had a 15 point game, a 10 point game, a 19 point game, and another 15 point game to what he did this sim then it's night and day. He kicked the sim off with 29 points and followed that up with a 32 point performance. His best came at the end of the sim though where he first put up 33 points in a game and then closed the sim off with a 45 point night against Brose.
Kevin McHale (Olympiacos) - 29.4 Points Per Game
- Well this is a bit of a surprise I'm sure. After rarely scoring under 30 points this sim, only doing it 5 times before this sim, he matched that total in this sim alone with another 5 games under the 30 point mark. He did still have some big performances with his best being on the opening night of this sim where he put up 47 points against Auckland in a victory. Now while 29.4 PPG is still super impressive this is not what anyone expects from the soon to be MVP and it'll be interesting to see how he bounces back.
Pau Gasol (Knicks) - 27.7 Points Per Game
- The final entry on this list is Pau Gasol who falls a bit from where he was last sim but still put up some big scoring numbers this time out. What hurt him had to be quite a few games were he played under 36 minutes due to his team having the game locked up. He gave everyone a glimpse at what he'd do in bigger minutes though when he put up 41 points in 41 minutes in the final game of the sim in a victory against San Francisco.
Sim Seven Top Passers
John Stockton (Knicks) - 11.7 Assist Per Game
- Continue his run at the top of this ranking, John Stockton had a great passing sim although it wasn't as great as he usually is in that area. Dropping below his league average by about 1 APG, he was still good enough to land in the top spot this sim. His best performance came when he had 14 assist in a victory against Guangdong.
Jason Kidd (Titans) - 11.0 Assist Per Game
- Jason Kidd has been absent from this list for a bit but makes his way back with a big passing sim. He gave his team 10 assist in 3 games so he wasn't super consistent but even when he fell below 10+ assist, he still managed to dish out quite a bit. His best game came in a 19 assist performance in a huge victory against the Timberwolves.
Dave Bing (Aoshen) - 10.7 Assist Per Game
- This may be Dave Bing's first appearance on this list if I'm not mistaken and he made sure to make an impressive debut. Bringing in 11 assist in 5 of his team's 7 games, he was making his business to get his teammates involved. His best outing was when he had 14 assist but wasn't able to lead his team to victory against the Jazz.
Gail Goodrich (Warriors)- 9.7 Assist Per Game
- Gail continues to be an underrated guard in this league because despite being really good, you rarely hear about his numbers from anyone. He didn't light it up on the scoreboard this sim but he still made sure to collect quite a few dimes. His best performance would have to be his 13 assist game in a victory against the Blazers.
Si Green (Eagles) - 9.3 Assist Per Game
- Bynum wasn't the only new Eagle to put up some big numbers this sim. There was some talk about whether Si Green was a starting PG but I think after this sim it's clear that his doubters where off-base. He's a near triple double every time he steps on the court and he showed that with some impressive games this time out. His best performance would have to be in his team's victory against Barcelona where he had 16 assist.
Frank Johnson (Wildcats) - 9.3 Assist Per Game
- Tied with Si for the 5th spot, Frank Johnson finds himself a spot on the ranking this sim with a respectable 9.3 APG performance. The Wildcats had a solid sim and he was a big part of that with his passing. He had three games where he was over the 10 Assist mark and his best performance was his 17 assist game against KK Partizan in a victory.
Sim Seven Top Rebounders
Anthony Davis (Flamengo) - 14.7 Rebounds Per Game
- Anthony Davis is all over these rankings today and he really did whatever he could to help his team win this sim. He grabbed at least 11 boards in every game that he was in this sim and helped his team go .500 for another sim. His best rebounding game would have to be his final game of the sim that saw him grab 19 boards in a win against LA.
Kevin Garnett (Timberwolves) - 12.6 Rebounds Per Game
- Another guy who is making his presence felt in multiple ways is this sim's leading scorer Kevin Garnett. While not as consistent as Davis with a few games under 10 rebounds, he had a monster game just like him to close out the sim when he grabbed 20 boards in a victory against the Jazz.
Benoit Benjamin (Regal FC) - 12.0 Rebounds Per Game
- Unless I'm mistaken this is the first appearance for Benoit Benjamin who made the move to a new team this sim after being traded from Cairo Zamalek. He didn't have the highs that KG or AD had but he was just extremely consistent throughout the sim never falling below 10 rebounds in a game. His top performance had to be his 15 rebound game against Newcastle.
Charles Barkley (Franca BC) - 11.6 Rebounds Per Game
- Charles Barkley continues his trend of making occasional appearance on my ranking and this time it's thanks to a big rebounding performance throughout this sim. His team really needs him to tap into his MVP play of yesteryear and this is a nice start in moving towards that. His best performance was a 20 rebound game against Belgrade KK Partizan.
Kristaps Porzingis (Grizzlies) - 11.6 Rebounds Per Game
- Future 12x MVP Kristap Porzingis makes his debut on this list and picks up where his former teammate Andrew Bynum left off with a huge rebound performance. He had a few down games but for the most part he was a beast on the boards with multiple 10+ rebound games. His best was in a game against the Warriors where he picked up 15 boards in a victory.
Sim Seven Top Shot Blockers
Anthony Davis (Flamengo) - 4.2 Blocks Per Game
- Anthony Davis had a MVP level sim with how much he did this sim so it's hard to say what was most impressive between his shot blocking, scoring, and rebounding. He was a menace on the inside and at his best he gave his team 7 blocks in a win against Harlem while also scoring 39 showing everyone that he can do a little (or a lot) of everything.
Ben Wallace (Maccabi) - 3.8 Blocks Per Game
- Big Ben Wallace moves up a spot from last sim with a slightly worse performance on the defensive end. He was consistent as could be on that end of that ball and at his best he blocked 8 shots in a big win against the Chicago Bulls.
Bill Russell (Mikawa) - 3.7 Blocks Per Game
- After his insane defensive performance last sim, Bill Russell cools down quite a bit but still comes in #3 with an impressive showing on the defensive side. After starting the sim with a 0 block game he would block at least 2 shots in every sim with his best game being a 7 blockperformance in his team's only loss this sim.
Dikembe Mutumbo (Olympiacos) - 3.6 Blocks Per Game
- Deke had quite the sim this time out with some impressive offensive outings but he still mainly made his mark when he was playing defense. He blocked at least one shot in every game this sim with his best performance being his 6 block game against the Raptors.
George Mikan (Bamberg) - 3.4 Blocks Per Game
- The final name on the blocks ranking is George Mikan who made his mark on the rebounding ranking in the sim before last. Helping push his Brose Baskets to another strong sim where they went 5-2 he was definitely a dominating defensive presence. His best game came when he blocked 6 shots in the sim's opener to help his team pick up a victory against Vancouver.
Sim Seven Top Ball Thieves (Steals)
John Stockton (Knicks) - 3.8 Steals Per Game
- Returning to the top of this ranking after taking a surprising drop last sim is John Stockton. He was far ahead of every other perimeter player when it came to defense this sim which was needed with his shaky offense as of late. His best game came when he had 7 steals in a win against his former team, KK Partizan.
Jeff Trepagnier (Franca BC) - 2.9 Steals Per Game
- A new face to this ranking and someone I wasn't expecting to see, Jeff Trepagnier comes in as the most unlikely #2 of the sim. He helped his team pick up more wins than usual this sim with some strong defense where he had at least a steal in every game. His best was his 4 steal performance in a win against Maccabi.
Doug Christie (Aoshen) - 2.9 Steals Per Game
- Doug Christie is someone who is becoming a consistent presence on this ranking every sim with his impressive defense. He had at least a steal in every game this sim and at his best gave his team 6 steals in a win against Newcastle
Damon Stoudamire (Sonics) - 2.9 Steals Per Game
- The Sonics had their best performance of the season and Stoudamire's big defensive sim was a big part of that. With only a few lapses throughout the sim he was a constant source of steals in pretty much every game this sim. His best performance came in a 6 steal game against CSKA Moscow.
Monta Ellis (Southern Tigers) - 2.8 Steals Per Game
- The lone Southern Tiger on any ranking this sim is Monta Ellis who much like Christie is becoming a somewhat consistent presence among the top ball thieves. He gave his team at least two steals in every game this sim with his best performance coming when he picked up 4 steals against the Lakers.
- Well this is a bit of a surprise I'm sure.
