StrengthsExcellent all-around athleticism and the best dunker of his generation. During his prime he was almost unstoppable when trying to get to the rim. To add to his athleticism he had an above-average jumper/fadeaway. Was among top 8 in league scoring in 6 different seasons (10 seasons of 20+ points per game, including 6 seasons over 24 points per game).
Decent rebounder (averaged 5 or more rebounds per game for 9 seasons). Solid FT shooter (80% on his career).
WeaknessesAverage 3pt shot that got better later in his career (37% on his career). Wasn't an exceptional passer for the guard position, but still racked up his share of assists when the double-team came (averaged around 4.5 assists per game during his prime). His defence was very strong and he could hold his own against other top players, but he was not an absolute elite defender (averaged over 1.0 steals per game in each of his first 11 seasons in the league; wasn't an elite shot-blocker averaging less than a block per game during his prime) NotesRookie of the year. 8 consecutive all-star appearances. Is the reason for basketball's growth in Toronto and the influx of Toronto-based NBA players. StrengthsMonster athlete with incredible dunking ability. Was a good player right as he came into the league winning the rookie of the year award. Great scorer in his prime averaging 18.8 PPG for his career including ten straight years of at least 20 PPG topping out at 27.6 PPG in the 00-01 season. Along with his elite ability to get to the rim also was a good jump shooter and had a formidable three pointer which he was already shooting at 40% in his second season and shot 37% from beyond the arc for his career. Good rebounder for a guard averaging nearly 5 RPG for his career including career highs of 6 RPG in 2 of his seasons. Great foul draw rate averaging nearly 5 FTA for his career and shooting a solid 80% from the charity stripe for his career. Decent passer averaging a little over 4 APG in his prime. Does well to protect the ball with just under 2 turnovers per game for his career. Good defender using his elite athleticism. WeaknessesNo Had no heart in giving it his all. At times was hailed as the heir to MJ but just never had the driver to take it to the next level. Forced his way out of Toronto essentially giving up on the team and intentionally playing poorly to force the move. Not a great ability to block shots. Limited ability to steal the ball. Notes8 x All Star Rookie of the Year As Harlem mentioned, he put Toronto on the map as a basketball town and in his prime was often leading the league in all star votes.
