#1 - #5: The Franchise Players
#1: Istanbul Anadolu Efes
Team Needs: C, SF
Selection: LeBron James
Istanbul Anadolu Efes is a team that hasn't been talked alot about in Ultimate ABCA but they are about to be put on the map. LeBron James is the most hyped rookie heading into a draft class in ABCA history and will instantly improve a team that needs the help. Earl Manigault is currently their best player and adding LeBron James to 23 year old PF Nikola Jokic and 22 year old SG Bradley Beal could put them in the playoff picture next season. This draft class is getting alot of hype but no doubt about it there is only one way to go here and that is drafting LeBron James.
#2: Barcelona Regal FC
Team Needs: SF, SG
Selection: Carmelo Anthony
Barcelona Regal are a team that has had alot of luck in the lottery recently and again find themselves with a top draft selection in a deep draft. Last year wasn't a great year for Barcelona with star center George Mikan missing half the season through injury plus Mikan deciding to test the free agent market. I expect Barcelona to be confident on resigning Mikan so they will be looking at either filling the SF or SG spot. They could go a few ways here with guys like Rick Barry, Dwyane Wade and Carmelo Anthony on the board and tbh they couldn't go wrong with either guy. Carmelo Anthony has work to do on his defense but he is coming in as a great scorer and will be one of the best scorers to come out of this draft class.
#3: Mexico City Titans
Team Needs: C, SF, PG
Selection: Karl-Anthony Towns
Mexico City Titans are a team with a few holes so they could go a few different directions. I think it is between Rick Barry and Karl-Anthony Towns, they would probably like a point guard here but it's a little early for someone like Gail Goodrich. Mexico have been a team to build around big men and after moving Pau Gasol they do have a whole at the center spot. Karl-Anthony Towns is the best bigman in this draft class hands down and has all the attributes you would want in a franchise center. If they went with Rick Barry here that could surprise me but think Karl-Anthony Towns is the guy to get here.
#4: Seattle Supersonics
Team Needs: C, SF, SG, PG
Selection: Dwyane Wade
Seattle Supersonics will be looking at the best available player here after finishing the season with the worst record in the league, that would be between Dwyane Wade and Rick Barry. Dwyane Wade is an elite athlete and has a great all round game coming out of college already with potential to grow, the only real weakness in his game is his three point shot but he has all the tools to be a great player in this league for a long time and a great player player to build around.
#5: Bamberg Brose Baskets
Team Needs: C, SF, SG
Selection: Rick Barry
Bamberg Brose Baskets are heading into the draft with only three players on their current roster so they are open to a few different things so I see them going with the best available player, that being Rick Barry. Rick Barry is a top talent and could very easily go #2,#3,#4 so I'm sure Bamberg would be very happy to have him fall to them. Rick Barry has all the tools and is one of the best all round talents in the draft being able to score, pass, defend and a decent athlete on top of all that. Rick Barry would be a great addition to a Bamberg team in need of some more talent.
LeBron James, will go #1
#6-#10: All Star Talent
#6: Mikawa Aisin Seahorses
Team Needs: PF, PG
Selection: Kristaps Porzingis
Mikawa Aisin Seahorses didn't have any lottery luck slipping a so be 5 places in the lottery and although this is a deep draft I do feel after the top 5 the talent does start to drop slightly. I'm sure Mikawa will be looking at guys like Chris Bosh and Gail Goodrich but he is a GM that likes to think outside the box so a surprise pick could be on the cards here. I do think that Kristaps Porzingis will go here, the multi-skilled 7'3 Latvian is an intriguing prospect and one Mikawa and their coaches could no doubt get the best out of. If he does reach his potential then they will have a great player on their hands.
#7: Golden State Warriors
Team Needs: C, SF, PG
Selection: Gail Goodrich
Golden State Warriors do have two point guards on their books already in Ronnie Lester and Mike Conley but Gail Goodrich would be a massive upgrade over those guys and is hands down the best point guard in the draft. Gail Goodrich is one of the older rookies in the class at 22 years old but is more ready to contribute straight away. His main strength is his scoring ability and on this Golden State Warrior team could easily average over 20PPG in his rookie season. They could go with Chris Bosh here but I can't see them passing up on a point guard this good with it being a tough position to fill.
#8: Newcastle Eagles
Team Needs: C, SG
Selection: Chris Bosh
Chris Bosh may be more of a Power Forward and with Antonio McDyess already on the roster it isn't a need but if I were them I would choose the best player on the board and worry about that later. Chris Bosh is a talented big man and like Kristaps Porzingis is a good jump shooting big aswell as being a decent rebounder and defender. His biggest knock would be his strength which wouldn't make center an ideal position for him but like I said would take the best player available and that is Chris Bosh.
#9: Minnesota Timberwolves
Team Needs: C
Selection: Billy Cunningham
The ABCA champions are next with their first of two lottery selections, center is their only whole so with it being a little too early for the likes of Wille Cauley-Stein, Miles Turner, Darko Milicic Minnesota will be looking at the best player available with that being Billy Cunningham. Billy Cunningham is a great athlete and scorer and could be a great 6th man option for them off the bench. I wouldn't be surprised if this pick was moved along with their later lotto pick for a center but if not then Billy Cunningham would be a great selection for them at #9.
#10: Piraeus Olympiacos BC
Team Needs: PF, SG, PG
Selection: Tal Brody
Piraeus Olympiacos could go a few different ways here, whether it would be to fill a need, best player available or drafting a raw prospect with potential. I think Tal Brody is a good pick here, one of the best true point guards in the draft is a good shooter, passer, defender as well as a solid athlete. Don't think you can go wrong with Tal Brody here as point guard isn't a easy spot to fill and he looks like he can be a solid starting point guard in this league for years to come.
Hype in Europe about Kristaps Porzingis
#11 - #20: End of Lottery, Good Depth + Raw Prospects
#11: Chicago Bulls
Team Needs: SF, PG
Selection: Kirk Hinrich
Here I think the talent drops off a little again. I'm sure Chicago would of liked to of picked up Tal Brody here but Kirk Hinrich would be a good fit for the Bulls. Kirk Hinrich is one of the best defenders in the draft, the best at the point guard spot as well as being a good shooter and passer. I'm sure they would of looked at guys like Van Arsdale, Boris Diaw, Josh Howard with another pick coming up at #13 and with not a lot of options left at PG they look to feel that need here even if #11 could be a little early for Kirk.
#12: Auckland Breakers
Team Needs: PF, SF
Selection: Boris Diaw
Boris Diaw is one of the most intriguing prospects in this draft class, I'm not sure what his best position is going to be but he can do a little bit of everything and has good size at 6-8 and 248lbs. For a team that was a playoff contender not too long ago a guy like Boris Diaw would be a good fit for them, he may never become a star but I'm sure he will have a solid ABCA career with the skill set he has.
#13: Chicago Bulls
Team Needs: SF
Selection: Kyle Korver
After selection Kirk Hinrich at #11 the Bulls could look at some of the raw prospects like Willie Cauley-Stein, Jahlil Okafor, Miles Turner but I think they will look to fill the SF spot here. Dick Van Arsdale, Josh Howard are options here but Kyle Korver's shooting ability can't be overlooked. Atlhough Korver is listed at SG he hasn't got great quickness and although he may need to work on his rebounding SF may be his best position in the pro's. Korver is the best three point shooter in the draft class and would do a good job spreading the floor for Joe Barry Carroll and Al Horford.
#14: Washington Generals
Team Needs: C, PG
Selection: Jahlil Okafor
Washinton Generals are coming off their best season and have put together a solid young core of players without too many holes. As a few teams around this spot they can go a few different ways but Jahil Okafor would be a good pickup of them here. He is a little raw defensively but he is one of if not the best low post scorers coming out the draft so weather it would be starting or off the bench he should be an impact straight away with his scoring ablity.
#15: Piraeus Olympiacos BC
Team Needs: PF, SG
Selection: Dick Van Arsdale
After addding Tal Brody at #10, Piraeus Olympiacos finish off their new rookie back court by adding Dick Van Arsdale. Van Arsdale is a solid player and is a great value pick at #15. He is one of the best defenders in the draft class if not the best as well as the potential to be a real solid scorer down the road, could end up being a steal if he does get picked up here. Pair him with Dikembe Mutumbo and Tal Brody and your looking good defensively for a long time.
#16: Minnesota Timberwolves
Team Needs: C
Selection: Willie Cauley-Stein
I'm sure the Timberwolves will be looking at some of the raw big men at this stage after picking up Billy Cunningham at #16. Willie Cauley-Stein is the best of the bunch and although he is a little raw he comes into the league as a solid post defender and rebounder. With a bit of work he could become a real solid defending/rebounding big man which every team loves to have and could fill the role Greg Ostertag did last season. At 7'0 he has great size. Would be a very nice pickup at #16 for the Timberwolves as they have the time to wait on him to develop which could pay off big time.
#17: Perth Wildcats
Team Needs: C, SG, PG
Selection: D'Angelo Russell
D'Angelo Russell would be a good fit for Perth, he has great size for a guard and is a good athlete. He is a bit of a combo guard and could play either SG or PG so is an interesting prospect and with the their back court having some holes, he would be an ideal player for them here. He has the potential to be a good scorer in the league as well as a decent defender and although he is 19 he is not as raw as some of the teenage prospects in this draft.
#18: Mexico City Titans
Team Needs: SF, PG
Selection: Josh Howard
Mexico City Titans are another team with two lottery picks in this year's draft and after picking up Karl-Anthony Towns at #3 with Titans will look for fill the SF role here. Emmanuel Mudiay could be an option here but feel Josh Howard is the better prospect. Howard comes into the league already as a good defender and a solid scorer and although he may never become a star player should make a name for himself as a starter in the league.
#19: Buenos Aires Boca Juniors
Team Needs: Depth
Selection: Darko Milicic
Darko Milicic is a bit of an unknown but is no doubt a very interesting prospect. The 7'0 center is very raw but has been making a lot of noise in the European scene and we know that Boca Juniors like international players so can see them taking a risk on him here. It could be a great pick or a bad pick no one really knows but at #19 it could very well be worth the risk.
#20: CSKA Moscow
Team Needs: C/PF, SG, PG
Selection: Mario Hezonja
CSKA could go a few different directions and they do love a trade so wouldn't surprise me if this pick was moved. Not sure what direction the team is heading but if they do keep it Mario Hezonja could be a decent option for them here. Although a little raw mainly on defense, Mario has the potential to be a decent scorer down the line and at 19 years old could be worth the risk here.
Kyle Korver, best shooter in the draft
#21 - #36 - Non Lottery Picks
#21: Aisin Seahorses: Bob Love
Bob Love is a player than can make an impact straight away as the Seahorses look to have a bounce back year.
#22: Brose Baskets: Emmanuel Mudiay
Emmanuel Mudiay is very raw but his upside could be worth the risk here.
#23: Jazz: Frank Kaminsky
Could be a decent fit next to Drummond for the Jazz.
#24: Supersonics: Mickael Pietrus
A little raw but has defensive potential which is always a good thing.
#25: Bulls: Myles Turner
Bulls pickup a backup big for Horford and Carroll.
#26: Flamengo: Trey Lyles
All round talent, good 6th man potential.
#27: Generals: Jerry Sloan
Fills a need off the bench.
#28: KK Cibona: Justise Winslow
Raw talent but has defensive potential.
#29: Breakers: David West
Decent backup bigman.
#30: Zamalek: Kendrick Perkins
Defensive bigman, ideal fit for a contender.
#31: KK Partizan: Mo Williams
Decent value here for a good combo guard.
#32: Knicks: Chris Kaman
Another decent backup big for Oden and Gasol.
#33: Grizzlies: Zaza Pachulia
Another decent backup big.
#34: Flamengo: John McGlocklin
Raw talent, could be a decent scorer.
#35: Maccabi: Tom Van Arsdale
Decent value here, bench depth.
#36: Fubon Braves: Stanley Johnson
Raw talent but has defensive potential.
#1: Istanbul Anadolu Efes
Team Needs: C, SF
