TEL AVIV, Israel (AP) - With the regular season over and the playoffs fast approaching here is a different season review and playoff preview, by the numbers. Giving you some numbers of the past and present of the Ultimate ABCA and then taking a closer look at the playoff match-ups and what the numbers say about them, to give you an idea of whats to come.
66- The Chicago Bulls season win total, a new league high, beating the mark Vancouver set last year at 64. The Grizzlies went onto win the Championship can the Bulls go on and do the same?
35.2- The amount of points that Chicago Bulls forward Charles Barkley averaged per game this season to lead the league, beating his own record that he set last season of 33.9ppg.
33- The amount of wins that the Minnesota Timberwolves added from last season. After finishing 19-63 last year the Timberwolves improved significantly to 52-30 to claim the West Division title. Tel Aviv improved by 29 games to also go from lottery to division winner.
19- The amount of wins that Boston had during the season, the lowest in the league. A lot better than last season's low which the Generals set at 6 wins.
27- Aisin Seahorses bigman Ubiratan Pereira Maciel set a new league record for rebounds in a single game when he grabbed 27 against the Boston Celtics on the penultimate game of the season.
574- The amount of points that Walt Frazier scored during the playoffs last season as the Grizzlies went on to win the title, the most of any player in the league. Now playing for CSKA who failed to make the playoffs someone else will take that lead soon.
25- The Auckland Breakers went on a 25 game win streak during the regular season. Starting with a victory at home against the Titans on the 7th December and ending with a defeat on the road to the Warriors on the 1st February.
6 - Brose Baskets, Maccabi Tel Aviv, Barcelona Regal, Portland Trailblazers, Minnesota Timberwolves and Toronto Raptors are all making their first playoff appearance in Ultimate ABCA after missing out last time around. 3 of them have home court advantage after winning their divisions.
The league leader in playoff points won't be able to add to that total this year.
Closer look: Eurasian Conference
The Breakers have had a couple of very successful seasons and look favorites against KK Cibona but only 7 teams have fared better against the Breakers than Cibona have. The teams have met 5 times before with the Breakers having a 3-2 record in those games. The teams have never met before in the playoffs. The Breakers will be looking to go when better than last season where they lost in the Finals.
Brose Baskets come into the match-up against the Aisin Seahorses winning the season series 2-0 which will give them some confidence heading into the playoffs. The Seahorses finished off the season strong though and did win all 3 times the teams matched up last season. The Seahorses reached the conference finals last season but its a first appearance for Brose Baskets. Center Arvydas Sabonis won a championship last season with the Grizzlies and will look to use that experience to help Brose Baskets advance to the next round.
For the 3rd series in a row the total series between these two teams is 3-2 with Olympiacos just holding the edge over the Wildcats. Splitting the regular season meetings this year 1-1 it should be a close series, no team scored over 100 points during the two meetings this year. Two of the best defenses in the league face each other with the Wildcats who held their opponents to a league best 94.6ppg and Olympiacos who had the 4th best with 99ppg.
The last match-up in the Eurasian conference see's two teams who didn't make the playoffs last season, Maccabi Tel Aviv and Barcelona Regal. Just like the other 3 series these two teams have played each other a total of 5 times in the ABCA and Barcelona hold a 3-2 lead. The regular season series was split 1-1. Both teams have a dynamic scorer with Michael Jordan ranked 2nd in scoring this year and Elgin Baylor, ranked 6th.

Closer look: American Conference
The Knicks head into their match-up with the Globetrotters with history on their side, it's a game that has been very favorable to them, they have won 5 of the 6 matches between the two teams, including all 3 this season. The Globetrotters scored 138 points in the game between the teams back in February 2001 where Joakim Noah scored 47 points, both of which are franchise records.
Boca Juniors vs Toronto Raptors is an interesting match up, the form table is with Boca Juniors who finished the season strong to collect the #2 seed with 56 wins, but they face a Raptors side who won all 3 meetings this season between the teams including one which was during Boca's hot streak towards the end of the season. Boca did however win all three times last season when the teams met. One of the teams will make it into the 2nd round of the playoffs for the first time.
In the 3 meetings the teams had this season the Timberwolves had the slight edge over the Warriors, winning 2 of the 3 games. Kevin Garnett also likes facing the Warriors, he scored a franchise record 44 points against them at the back end of last season. The Warriors did win all 3 games last season but that was against a different Timberwolves team.
The Bulls look like the best team in the league right now but they will be wary going up against a Trailblazer team that ended the season strong, especially after they were knocked out in the first round last year in an exciting 7 game series against Flamengo. The Bulls won 2 of the 3 meetings this season and hold a 5-1 record over the Blazers in league history. The Blazers finished the season 30-16 after new management and can't be taken lightly.
