I'm not sure I see the big deal. Both teams got what they wanted. Win/Win This. Maybe but it's not like Erod is some all star or that EJ is completely useless. You mean EJ isn't IR fodder and ERod isn't an MVP candidate? Having seen neither player that's certainly the impression I got reading this thread.. I'm sure EJ's contract is bad - but like all contracts, it's tradeable. What's the big deal people.

Spurs make for such fascinating tabloid coverage.
Spurs = Kim Kardashian Harlem = Khloe Odom Washington = The Mom Guangdong = Kylie Jenner
(I had to google these people, I don't actually know them)

Maybe but it's not like Erod is some all star or that EJ is completely useless. You're right - ERod isn't a star. However, he's cheap & expiring. EJ is practically useless: he sports a negative EWA, has a 47 TS%, doesn't rebound or pass well, and pretty much the *only* thing he can tip his hat on is perimeter D. This, of course wouldn't be a problem if he's your backup and isn't making $15 mil per season for the next 3 (possibly 4).

Rookie deal type contracts are cheap. He may be adequately paid.

Well, ERod contributes positively to his teams record as evidenced by his Wins Earned (5.0). A team like Mikawa on the cusp of playoff contention wants to stock their team to make a bid for the 8th seed and I'm sure would have been open to getting some sort of deal done. The other important thing to note is that even in a best-case scenario, when you want to move Jones, you have to give incentive to do so...someone would be more than willing to take on ERod for expirings in that worst-case scenario.

Both mediocre players. Ej is an average Sg who can start. Overpaid, yes. But he rounds out the Spurs lineup well. They need to figure out their dc and game plan though.
