| Kurt Rambis(#31)Height: 6-8 Weight: 213 lbs. Position: Power Forward Born: February 25, 1958 in Cupertino, California Age Drafted: 23 College: Santa Clara University Source: Basketball Reference |
StrengthsRambis was a tough player known for his effort and physical play. He was a good defender, and was usually sent in to harrass opposing forwards. He could not only lock down opposing forwards, but also had good hands for a big man averaging over 1spg whenever given serious minutes. His per 36 minutes totals rebounding totals are pretty impressive, well over 10rpg for his career. WeaknessesNot much of an offensive player, but good for the occasional put back or fast break bucket. He was also a below average FT shooter. He was a limited player at best, and was limited by both his skills and athletic ability. Not particularly quick, he used superior fundamentals to beat opponents. StrengthsKurt was a high energy guy who probably overplayed his actual abilities. He was known as a very good rebounder averaging 6rpg on his career being a 6th man, averaging over 6 5 times in his career. Rambis was very skilled with guarding opposing PFs in the midrange and perimeter averaging right under 1 SPG on his career. Rambis always shot a very high percentage, mainly due to his great offensive rebounding and putbacks, one year averaging .595%. His best season was in Charlotte as a starter averaged 11.1/9.4/2/1.3spg. WeaknessesFor a player with unique size and length, he was never much of a rim protector only averaging half a block over his career. Not much of a scorer although a decent percentage shooter, but more so due to playing on such good teams that he never had to be. His speed is also something that would never leave a defender in his dust. Notes4 Time NBA Champion, 3 Times in the Top 10 in Offensive rebounding%, 2 Times in Top 10 in Defensive Rebounding % Current AttributesINS | JPS | FTS | 3PS | HND | PAS | ORB | DRB | PSD | PRD | STL | BLK | QCK | STR | JMP | STA |
