I am curious if anybody else has done this? I was finally rewatching House since I didn't see S7 or S8 initially, and I got through season 7 which was ok for the first half and then started to unravel. So I thought ok, one more season maybe it'll make up for the shitty seventh. Boy was I wrong, story made no sense from the first episode and I completely lost interest in the whole thing by episode 7 of the last season. Couldn't even bring myself to see if the finale does the season any justice.
I also may have did this originally with That 70s show as well since the show lost a ton of direction when Topher Grace left.
You?

When it initially was on TV or ever? Cause I have bailed on many shows when they were on TV (Friends and X-Files to name a couple) only to go back and watch them once they hit Netflix or Amazon Prime.
I can say I've never seen the second and final season of Twin Peaks, but Corey has told me I'm better off not seeing it...

Oh, and as a PS, the last season of House was terrible and the finale was awful...you missed nothing by stopping when you did.

Lost. I was thoroughly enjoying it early on, and then at the end, it got real weird.
Also, not the last season, but I quit watching Prison Break midway through the second season. The first season was phenominal, so I kept giving the second season a chance. Boy, I was wrong.

Fringe - considering it's one of my favorite shows ever I stopped watching during the last season
Mindy Project - First two seasons were funny. Last season sucked. Not watching this season which I'm sure is it's last
Dexter - Quit watching the last season a few times... finally powered through it then wished I hadn't

Also almost every 2000's sitcom had a terrible last season.
Frazier, Raymond, King of Queens, Seinfeld, Friends.

Fringe is the perfect example of a show that went on one season too long...season 4 had the perfect ending, yet they decided to bring it back for a victory lap "for the fans" and it sucked.
Scrubs is another one...last episode of season 8 is an amazing farewell. Season 9 with the new class was utter shit.

Entourage... It got so bad. Yeah I binge watched to the end but refuse to go see the movie. The first few seasons are great, just couldn't take it anymore. The storyline was to repetitive and the guy who plays Vince is an unbelievably bad actor.

Was it as good as the peak of the show? No, but neither were the first couple of seasons. Still produced some of the classics to this day. Also curious as to your dislike for most recent season of Mindy Project. I thought it was on par with the 1st season, maybe not the second

I typically watch everything to the end, unfortunately.
Prison Break = beyond terrible towards the end Heroes = even worse than PB Dexter = lolz too little too late here Lost = good god could this have been any more convoluted Entourage = movie was actually good but show was bad for seasons NewsRoom = last season was actually enjoyable
I'm sure I'm missing a few but it's safe to say I watch too much television.

This one I'm not watching as I mentioned so maybe it's good - I'll give it a chance when it's on Netflix Last season I thought was horrible.. all of the Mindy in Cali stuff was bad and the Jeremy Peter Lauren stuff was annoying too.. also way way too much of Danny's mom - she's not funny at all. I really like their core group (Mindy, Jeremy, Danny, Morgan etc).. they introduced too many other characters and it got messy to me.

I truly loved that show, but the last season and mostly the finale really left me sad. I still will say S8 is the end of Scrubs. That final season was something else, more of a spin-off. Ending to S8 was one of the greatest endings to a TV show I have ever seen, absolutely LOVED the ending with Book of Love by Peter Garbriel playing to JDs imagination of the future.

Alright just read your thoughts and reminded me of some of the more annoying stuff I mustve removed from my memory. I havent watched the new Hulu exclusive season yet, so no thoughts there. Dannys mom definitely annoying and the jeremy peter lauren stuff was stupid, but I also think jeremy is the weakest of the main characters so it could be that most of his stuff doesnt hit for me. I think they kindve just honed the characters voices to the point where storylines, such as you mentioned, were stupid, but the jokes were always sharp and on point for me.

I still don't understand the hate for FRINGE season 5. Is it as strong as the rest? Probably not - but it's still pretty good.
Unlike Arrested Development Season 4. There is a Season 5 on the horizon but lets talk about lowered expectations (thanks to MadTV I can't think those two words without a jingle) I don't think there is more than 25% of the former fanbase for this show pumped about this season.
I know quite a few HUGE Arrested Development fans who couldn't make it through Season 4. They just stopped. It was sad.
I powered through it. Kind of glad I saw it but it wasn't good - at all.

I liked it, to be honest. And then I went back and watched the first three seasons again and I was like OH YEAH. It does not measure up, clearly.

Chalk me up for the "lowered expectations" group. In no way am I pumped, but I'm intrigued to see if they can recover. I was also happy that I powered through Season 4, just wish they had done the re-cut that was talked about a bit.

I actually only made it 2/3s of the way through season 4 before stopping. I did eventually go back and finish, but overall I can say I really did not enjoy it at all compared to the first 3 seasons.
