STRENGTHS:
Greg Monroe is a beast on the block. He has a variety of pump fakes, moves, and shots to get a look he wants. He's effective on the high and low blocks, able to facilitate for his teammates with good passing instincts. He has a very high basketball IQ on offense and knows where to be to contribute best. He also has a decently accurate short mid-range jump shot, and likes to mix it up on the offensive glass.
WEAKNESSES:
Monroe's a guy who came into the league at the wrong time. In the 1990s, or even mid-2000s, he would've been a perfect 4-man. However, in the modern NBA, he doesn't really have a position. The Pistons played him at the 5, where he could not anchor a defense, then they played him at the 4 with Andre Drummond, and he could not keep up with smaller PFs. In Milwaukee, he's been consistently miscast and now comes off the bench because Jason Kidd barely finds him playable. Monroe wasn't strong enough coming into the league, and has bulked up, although it's questionable how much of that is muscle. He still doesn't bully anyone and the weight has probably made him slower. He's not beating anyone in a foot race or in a vertical leap competition. Finally, Monroe's defense is suspect. He's a meh rebounder and is hard to play on defense because he doesn't really match up with anyone.
