Name: John Havlicek Position: SF SG Number: 17 DOB: April 8, 1940 Age when drafted: 22 College: THE Ohio State University Hometown: Martins Ferry, Ohio Height: 6'5 Weight: 203
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
STRENGTHS: Havlicek was a great two-way player, and can handle both SG and SF. Defensively, he was a lockdown defender and was known to make a steal or two a game. He was one of the best all around athletes of the era, as well as one of the fastest players in the league. Havlicek has range to the three point line (although it wasn't around in his era) and can finish with the best of them around the hoop.
WEAKNESSES: The only knock on Havlicek is that he was never a high percentage shooter, but was able to hover around 45% mark during the prime of his career.
SIGNIFICANT INFO: 13x All Star, 1x Final MVP, 8x NBA Champion, 11x All NBA, Top 10 All Time: Field Goals (10) Field Goal Attempts (6)

StrengthsHavlicek comes into the league as one of the quickest and deceptively strong small forwards. Despite a wiry frame, he will be able to contain all but the strongest wings. Utilizing his athleticism, he'll be able to provide an almost unmatched all-around game capable of going off for triple doubles on any given night. Scouts think the system at Ohio State held him back from being a volume scorer, so there's a pique of interest in whether or not he's capable of being a franchises' first option. He has a great foul draw rate - don't be surprised to see him among the leaders in FTA/GM. There are almost no injury concerns regarding him. Weaknesses
While possessing a beautiful shooting stroke, he's a relatively mediocre free throw shooter and jump shooter. He'll need to improve on that aspect. For such an amazing athlete he has some breathing problems limiting him from playing major minutes so he'll need to work on conditioning. Either that or his effort level is through the roof*. * Ginobili was known early on to only play in spurts of 5-6 minutes because of the crazy amount of effort he gave during that stretch. Notable Information- One of the greatest all-around players of all-time peaking at 29/9/8 in 1970-71
- 13x NBA All-Star
- NBA Finals MVP (1973-74)
- Compares favorably to the following NBA players: Paul Pierce, Scottie Pippen, Pau Gasol, Dominique Wilkins and Rick Barry in Similarity Score
