I'm just throwing this out there for the board/league members to chew on before next season. There are some historically horrible three-point shooters in the ABCA. Just a few examples: - Al Horford, 402 career three point attempts, .219 lifetime percentage, 17 attempts this year at age 28
- Karl Malone, 983 attempts, .275 lifetime percentage, five attempts this year (age 33) all misses
- Bill McGill, 507 attempts, .217 lifetime percentage, five attempts this year (age 31) all misses
- Marc Gasol, 702 attempts, .229 lifetime percentage, 28 attempts this year at age 28
I propose that gm's be allowed to spend pp to send players like these to 'camp' (call it a coaches conference if you like) where their 3PS rating is voluntarily reduced to F-. I believe that will force them to stop shooting threes entirely or at least make it a rare occurrence. This seems logical, in that in real life bad three point shooters never get to hoist up 983 of them before someone sits them down and threatens to poison them. I would like to see ABCA gms have that same real-life power to shut these guys down. I suggest making it a relatively cheap camp, and I also suggest prohibiting players younger than 27 from attending since in theory they could still learn to hit that shot (although McGill and Gasol have stunk from day one and never got any better.) Thanks for your consideration.

I 100% support this and was actually going to post a similar suggestion myself one of these days.
A couple things: - Rather than adjust the 3pt skill, there is a hidden 3pt attribute that determines how often the player shoots a 3. I think this is the attribute that should be adjusted. - I dont think there should be an age limit. Its the equivalent of a coach telling the player not to shoot the 3, which doesnt really matter with age - I think the camp should be about the ability to set the 3pt frequency attribute, not just eliminating 3pt shots. So it lets GMs potentially increase it. For example if you have a guy with A+ 3pt skills but low frequency, you can increase it to turn him into a 3ptt specialist

You could call it: "The Mike Woodson/Josh Smith" camp (seriously, look at the last season that Woodson was the head coach of the Hawks, and look at how many 3s he took that season compared to the next season or the previous seasons).
