Strengths: James White is an incredible athlete. If he were stronger, he'd be in the running for one of the greatest athletes in NBA history. He is an incredible vertical leaper, but is close to an olympic-level long distance jumper. This jumping ability allows him to be one of the greatest dunkers around, doing some free throw line dunks that maybe no one else can. His athleticism might enable him to become a solid defender one day.
Weaknesses: White doesn't quite use his athleticism as well as you'd expect. While he is quicker than most, he does not have the handle to blow by defenders. While he can jump higher than most, he does not have the strength to dunk much in-game or even finish well around the basket. This is just the start, though. White has limited range and really is generally limited on the offensive side of the ball. He's relegated to a spot-up shooter who can't hit jump shots that well. Moreover, while his defense shows promise, his fundamentals need a lot of work. Finally, while you'd think a stellar jumper would be a good rebounder, White is sub-par for a swingman.
