Brandon Roy Right-Handed Shooting Guard/Point Guard 6'6" 215 pounds 22 years old University of Washington Hometown: Seattle, Washington Strengths: Brandon Roy at his peak was one of the top SGs in the NBA. He can score all over the court and is one of the best playmakers in this draft. He has Point Guard-like vision, although it is difficult to anticipate him seeing much time at the spot. He excels in the pick & roll and is probably the best player in the entire draft at operating in the mid-range. He will surprise with his finishing ability at times, even though it is not his game. While primarily a mid-range scorer, Roy can dunk on players and is creative around the basket. Finally, Roy is a very efficient player. He is patient, takes good shots (as indicated by his FG% for a guard), and makes smart passes. Weaknesses: Despite all his strengths, Roy is not without fault. He is a weak defender who struggles to guard quicker guards or more powerful Small Forwards. His range from 3 is not nearly as good as from mid-range. He struggles with consistency outside 18 feet and should really only be taking wide open 3s. In addition, Roy is not a superior athlete. His game is entirely fundamentals and he struggles to use his athleticism to his advantage against most players. It's tough to project how his career would have turned out had it not been ended early by injuries. He had likely peaked by the time he had to retire, but you never know if he could have been a Hall of Fame-type player. Additional Info:3-time All-Star (in all his full seasons) Rookie of the Year All-NBA 2nd and 3rd Team (2009 & 2010) 1st Team All-American (2006) PAC 10 Player of the Year (2006) Current:INS JPS FTS 3PS HND PAS ORB DRB PSD PRD STL BLK QCK STR JMP STA 3 4.5 4 2.5 4 3.5 1.5 2.5 1.5 2.5 3 1 3.5 3 3.5 4.5Potential:INS JPS FTS 3PS HND PAS ORB DRB PSD PRD STL BLK4 5 4.5 3 4 4 1.5 3 2 3 3 1
