That was likely the battle for the 15th spot I guess we'll see but I don't like what Denver, Phoenix, Portland, and maybe 1-2 other squads have over the Wolves. Rubio needs to stay heathly. That happens we have a shot to push for 35-42 wins. Interesting. Vegas sets line at 25.5 and you telling me they gonna be off by 10-15 wins possibly. Sounds like you need to bet the farm.

Fell asleep, but liked what I saw out of rubio and towns in the first half. Lots of work to be done, im not as optimistic as john even with a healthy rubio i think 30 is more likely where we start to top out this year

So got to catch the Thunder/Spurs and LA/MN games. OKC looks pretty good, Durant was rusty, but we have finally got some solid depth and picked up a big win over a very good looking SA team.
MN/LA was something else. Rubio played crazy good, is this the player that will be out every night or was it Laker D that made it easier? Towns looked really good as well, he should develop into something good. Wolves look like at times that they settle for way too many long shots for stretches (Mainly the one where LA took a big lead). Wiggins needs to attack more and not settle for the meh jumper. A win is a win, so good for them. Kobe shot the Lakers out of a win.

Pleased with the Knicks getting off to a 1-0 start. The Bucks didn't have Giannis but the Knicks didn't have Afflalo, were on the road, won by 25 points, and were obviously the worst team in the East last season so a win is a win for them.
Excited about our young guys Kristap, Grant, Galloway, Kyle O'Quinn (not really young but only 25 and in his 4th year) and a few others.
Was interested to see how Monroe played since he was a guy attached to the Knicks as far back as the middle of last season. Strong stat line but didn't look good defensively, and shot like 40% so wasn't extremely impressed.

Raps off to a 2-0 start. East is weak.
Like their attention to defense this year so far

2-0 start for the Thunder. Not sure I'm that big on playing KD 53 and russ 47 minutes just to beat Orlando in 2OT. What might be worse is that they were like 90 of the 136 points tonight

2-0 start for your Wolves.
Played two (theoretically) bad teams but both were roads wins in Denver and LA.
This team has some good depth with LaVine, Martin, Bazz, Bjelica, and Dieng coming off the bench.
Towns looks legit so far. Two double doubles and now we have some rim protecting. Helps the D a ton.
Rubio looks to be scoring more. Finishing at the rim better than ever.

lol, time to build a new stadium? Every other team has one
I blame the floor, I've always hated the color scheme.

Did you see the Karl Towns interview from 2011 where he interviewed KD? Kind of funny

Wolves 4-2 with Rubio. 0-3 without.
Very similiar to the trends over the last couple years with/out Ricky in line-up.
Super impactful player.

What's got Rubio out this time? This feels like a yearly thing with him missing time

Wolves win another road game. This time in Miami.
Now 5-2 in games Rubio has played.

Big game for Kristap with 29 points & 11 Rebounds in just 31 minutes tonight. Most points by a rookie this season so that's nice. Good to see him do it against the Hornets after they spoiled his 15 rebounds (most by a rookie this season I believe) and game winner last week.
Towns is definitely the ROTY at this point but really happy with how Kristap has looked so far this year.

I'm going to go ahead and say I was dead wrong on Porzingis. I don't think I was too far off initially when I didn't think he looked like a first round draft pick two years ago or like a lottery pick last year, but his work ethic (and height) has put me to shame. He still needs to shoot the ball better, but he has the mindset of a star. If you had told me he'd be averaging almost 9 boards a game as a rookie, I would've laughed at you. If this is 2-years-away-from-being-2-years-away Porzingis, I'm afraid.

If this is 2-years-away-from-being-2-years-away Porzingis, I'm afraid. yeah I was just reading through the comments on the old board's NBA thread from before the draft. You and KK Partizan were pretty down on him with you saying you hate him lol. I won't pretend I was in the Porzingis camp pre-draft (wasn't disappointed to see us draft him though as those on Slack will recall) since I was more in the Mudiay camp once we dropped to 4. I will agree he still has some work to do with consistency. If you look at his last 8 games, he's had five where he shot 51.6% from the field but then he had 3 games at 30.6%. He's taking good shots but he's a rookie so some of those shots that should be dropping aren't. Overall I think he's definitely ahead of where pretty much everyone had him for year one. The one person I can say was fully in the Porzingis camp pre-draft from what I saw was New Orleans . Again no one thought he'd do much this year but he was clearly a supporter from his comments in the nba thread and on slack.

Yeah. Love his game/work ethic. He's athletic and skilled and big... really not much you can't love about him. People just were being judgmental because of others past failures.

Wolves picked up a big home win against the 76ers last night.
KAT was in foul trouble but Wiggins was a stud in the 4th.

When it's your first at home and your team had the most losses last year any win is a big win. 6-8 so far this season is love for them to stay around 500.

Are they really only 6-8? I haven't watched anything since opening night but I thought they looked pretty good there, figured it would translate to a better start then that :/

Ricky and Wiggins have both already dealt with some nagging injuries. If KMart ever makes a basket again we'd be in business. But lets end the LaVine at PG experiment. Dude is a SG!
